About Iranian NANDA-I Network
List of titles
The process of producing knowledge requires an appropriate and active scientific platform, and this platform is provided when, in a scientific environment, scientists and those who carry out scientific activities actively and extensively establish scientific communications and interactions. In the field of health, nurses are the most important and key members of the care team in medical centers who, based on their knowledge and skills, are able to provide the highest level of care to patients in different departments based on detailed examination and formulation of nursing diagnoses. On the other hand, in accordance with the country’s upstream documents, including the 1404 strategic document on effective presence in the international arena, completing the health innovation cycle to complete the idea-to-health chain, social accountability, achieving global standards and international certifications, as well as the relevant ministry’s guidelines on patient safety, including patient fall prevention, safe surgery guidelines, pressure ulcer prevention guidelines, and correct patient identification guidelines, and the executive instructions of the nursing unit for patient education and follow-up, it is necessary to determine the care needs of patients through a comprehensive examination and based on detailed nursing diagnoses in order to provide effective care.
Toward this goal, after Dr. Mitra Zandi, a faculty member of the School of Nursing at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, registered two nursing diagnoses for the first time from Iran in the NANDA-I International book in 2021, she sent a request to NANDA-I International to establish the Iranian NANDA-I Network on January 20, 2023. After forming a group of ten faculty members from Shahid Beheshti, Iran, Lorestan, Alborz, Tabriz, etc. universities and providing the initial conditions necessary for the formation of the network as mentioned in the NANDA-I International Statute, and through various stages of review and interaction with NANDA-I International, the Iranian NANDA-I Network was established as the eighth network approved by NANDA-I International on July 1, 2024, with an official notification from the Director General of NANDA-I International.
